What you'll have here:
  • Scalability: Working on products that we can use every day and have millions of users. Some of them are your friends, neighbors, family members.
  • People: You will work with experts, community leaders and senior engineers who made these products from scratch. They will reveal to you how the whiteboard idea turns into a worldwide platform.
  • Tech stack: We are technical agnostics and programming languages are just a tool, but they can make our job easy. Thus, we’re following the latest technology trends.
  • Engineering mindset: Writing application code is just part of the story - here you can mix tools, improve your knowledge about clean code, unit tests and other agile technical practices, and be involved in all application lifecycle management stages.
  • Career growth: We strongly believe in feedback culture and development plans.
  • Community: You want to share your knowledge with the community? You are more than welcome. If you are not a great speaker, that is also fine.
Your Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain Android applications and platform-level components for embedded devices.
  • Optimize performance, stability, and resource usage across different device models.
  • Investigate and resolve complex software, hardware, and production issues.
  • Contribute to technical design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
  • Maintain code quality through automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, Google, and third-party device and chipset vendors.
  • Contribute to architecture, technical decisions, and technology selection.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools to improve development efficiency and software quality.
What we're looking for:
  • At least 5 years of software development experience.
  • Strong understanding of Android, including both application and system-level development.
  • Experience with relevant programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, C, or C++.
  • An engineering mindset focused on understanding problems, evaluating trade-offs, and choosing the right solution rather than being tied to a specific technology.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and willingness to learn and propose new approaches.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with different teams and external vendors.
  • Experience with Linux, Android TV, embedded devices, video streaming, or audio/video codecs is a plus.
